Need a new book, preferably audio, can’t find anything to hold my interest

I also liked The Dutch House, but agree that it’s not really plot driven.

If you like science fiction, Project Hail Mary (same author as The Martian) was good.

For romance, you could listen to Outlander.

I’m listening to The Handmaid’s Tale which is good.

If you like mystery, I’ve listened to a few Tana French books based on recommendations here and really liked them. My favorites so far were Faithful Place and The Likeness.

I just started The Lincoln Highway (same author as Rules of Civility) and like it so far.

Outlander? She said no trauma or rape and that’s about the rapiest book I’ve ever read.

Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall, if you want a Brit romance with humor. The narrator, Joe Jameson, is fantastic.

I love this author/narrator combo — more that I like the book itself.

+1 I got bored with this book about halfway through. Haven't finished - read some spoilers just for narrative closure.

Nothing To See Here was a great audiobook. I'm surprised you didn't like Remarkably Bright Creatures, given the others you do like! What bored you about it?

Maybe you're more in the mood for a mystery or a thriller? On DCUM's recommendation, I recently read - book, not audiobook - The Lies I Tell and I LOVED it.

Agree. I've never heard an audiobook quite like it.

Enjoyed this too but doesn’t it count as fantasy?

OP here.
“Remarkably”…I’m not sure. I’ve even sped up the narration but it’s dragging! Maybe I’ll keep at it.

I’ve read and enjoyed most of what is suggested: Daisy Jones was the best audiobook!

I love the reading for the audiobook “100 year old man that climbed out a window”

Story and narrator so engaging. I was so sad the book was over.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by the same author was also a good audiobook.

Daisy Jones was so much better though, due to the ensemble cast. I keep trying to get my extended family to listen to it. Every single actor is excellent, but I mostly want to talk to anyone who will listen about Eddie and Warren. (and Graham, of course, sigh).
