| A favorite in our house is red beans and rice with andouille sausage. New York Times has a good recipe. It’s incredibly easy and I like how balanced it is for a single dish. |

I have met very few men who didn’t have a weakness for meat and potatoes. Not trying to be THAT poster, but I hope you encourage him to branch out and try different dishes and vegetables. |

For the Korean beef bowls, you can buy pre marinated bulgogi meat at Lotte and HMart.
I also like to make shepherd’s pies, baked spaghetti, bratwurst and spaetzle, Golden curry (also easy to find at HMart) with chicken thighs and potatoes over rice. |

Anyone have a good Korean beef bowl recipe? Or stroganoff recipe?
My kids LOVE Shepard’s pie. I don’t follow a recipe. Just brown some ground beef with onion carrot and peas, garlic, thyme. add a tablespoon of flour and heat a couple min then a a couple glugs of beef broth. Top with mashed potatoes and bake. I often make in cast iron skillet so I minimize dishes to wash |

Smitten Kitchen’s every day meatballs - you can serve them with pasta or make garlic bread.
Literal meat and potatoes. Roast beef and quartered, boiled potatoes (as you would for mashing them, just don’t mash them here), serve with creamy cucumber sauce (and a salad for those of you in the family past puberty). Spam fried rice - Wapo had a good pantry recipe. Pierogi Wapo had a good potato soup recipe in the last year or two. It’s just thickened with mashed potatoes (rather than flour) and I’ve thrown in browned ground beef and some shredded cheese for cheeseburger soup. |

Also pork chops and corn and the cob is a winning combo here. |
For a Korean bowl, I use ground beef and CJ Bulgogi sauce (link below, but can find it at international stores). Make rice in the rice maker. If I'm feeling the need to be healthy, I'll use Japanese brown rice. But most of the time I use Japanese regular white rice. If I'm lazy, I throw in any frozen vegetables that I think will taste good. If I have the energy, I' cut carrots and zucchini into ribbons and stir-fry with a little soy sauce and mirin. Or cabbage with soy sauce and rice wine vinegar. https://www.amazon.com/CJ-Bulgogi-Marinade-Korean-Bottles/dp/B003U925C4 |
