How can I get ADHD medication inexpensively?

Just start by finding a regular doctor. Get an annual physical. Might be free with your health plan, call them and ask - including whether you pay for blood test. See if your vitamin D or iron is low and tell them you have trouble focusing at work. If blood work fine, go back, pay cash (maybe $100), and ask to try Adderall.

One more question. I have a high-deductible plan that I pay very little for since it was a grandfathered plan pre-Obamacare. Given the high deductible ($10,000), I basically pay all of this stuff out-of-pocket. Do you know therefore if the online therapy would be less expensive than a psychiatrist? Will they give me an official diagnosis? My PCP said that if I have a diagnosis, he can fill the prescription.

A single appointment with a psychiatrist will be about $160 or whatever an office visit costs.

I would try going to the zocdoc.com site or something similar. They show people who take your insurance, prices and some of the providers show availability.

It took an hour and she took Carefirst insurance. She sent the prescription to Walgreens an hour later.
Easy.

Who did you use for this?

My doctor referred me to a psychiatrist and they did all the testing - took 2 doctors visits to the psychiatrist ($30 copay each time). That was it. Don’t call testing center - get like three referrals from your go
