If me, I would flip - more time in GC and less in LV. We spent a week on the river than three days/two nights in LV at end and DD, then nearly 15 and quite urbane, was horrified by LV. Could not wait to leave. |
| Hey OP. Just bumping cause my family and I got here Wednesday night. On day 2 in Vegas before we head out to Utah tomorrow morning and my kids (8 and 12) are loving it. Every resort is fun to visit, tons of stuff to do, and it is not nearly as seedy and disgusting as some of the DCUM snobs make it sound. The only thing my kids are grossed out by is the smoke smell as you walk through the casinos but it’s not a major deal. Even my “all family trips are uncool” moody 12 year old girl is into it. Book it and have fun!! |
I have been to Vegas many times from the DC area never ever have I encountered drunk people. A few hangovers that sleep but nothing more. Vegas is fine for a family trip. Unless you are a book-banning, control freak. Personally, I could not do the Grand Canyon from there Hoover Dam yes. Sedona would be better for a day trip to Grand Canyon from Vegas is just silly. And I too would not do the Flamingo with families. Mandala Bay would be the best for that. Not a fan of NY NY gross old rooms. MGM has great pools but too many drunk idiots. |
