Said Daniel Day Lewis to the original theatrical release.

LOL. Loved this movie so much as a young teenage girl.

Same but it makes me laugh now! He does this whole speech about finding her no matter what and then finds her in the next scene!

haha I forgot that. I can JUST hear the theme/soundtrack now.

One of the great movies from the ‘90s….from the gorgeous scenery, to the cinematography, to the evocative soundtrack, to the final fight when Chingachakook avenges the death of his son Uncas and takes out Magua…….just epic stuff.

The way the younger sister just allows herself to go over the cliff…

Damn! Now I want to watch it again!!

Daniel Day-Lewis as Hawkeye was truly the hottest, most masculine role I have ever seen ANY actor play. Just jaw-dropping. Which says so much about DDL since he can also play very effeminate, prissy characters too. He is just spectacular in this role.

It’s odd how popular this movie is on DCUM. No one I know IRL likes it or has even seen it.

It really takes me back in time to the mid-nineties.

I’d never heard of this movie. DH has me watch it - says it’s his favorite romantic movie. I like it but man not a rewatch for me - too intense.

Wait, they took out the "stay alive, I will find you" line? That's the best part of the movie!

I’ve seen that version on cable in the last year. Can’t recall the channel, but I’ve definitely heard DDL say that line when I’ve watched the movie.

I have it on VHS. Couldn’t bear to throw it away. We have an old Zenith VHS player with the toggle rewind from lk 2000. The A/V cords are wrapped up in the box. It’s right next to our canned soup and Coleman lantern.

I’m ready whenever you want to watch it. It’s not streaming. But the hum of the tape as it rolls through the spool is almost as soft as DDL’s moccasins after running 150mi through Mohican territory.

One of my all-time favorite movies ever. The cast, the music, the scenery… perfect.
