How many shots of alcohol is in a typical margarita?

It's tequila.

Thus, after the application of "The Two Rules to Drinking Tequila: 1) Never drink tequila; and 2) Never, ever drink it again!" the only appropriate answer is ZERO!

If you have the pour, turn tequila upside down and count til 4. So the same with triple-sec but count til 2.
No alcohol in that slushy frozen mix; just brain-freeze, and sugar and fake lime juice.

None if it's frozen.

Whaaaat???

Maybe in DC. In Texas, restaurants often put everclear into frozen margs, so they can be deadly.

The classic “on the rocks” margarita recipe is 1-1-1 (tequila/lime juice/triple sec), but most bars make them weaker.
