College tours: how many colleges per day?

Anonymous
Most schools do formal tour and info session twice per day (am/pm) so it would be hard to do more than that. You could also do a drive through/ self guided at a 3rd if it’s close by. We got more out of student led tours than info sessions at most schools but if you can do both it’s worth it.

Yes. They usually have a morning or afternoon session. We squeezed 3 in with one being on our own and 2 being tours/info sessions. We could do 4 if on our own just walking around with tour app.

2 is my max. It all runs together. And if you do more, there's no time just to wander around campus a little bit.

But 1/day is much more tolerable, and ideally no more than 3 or 4 over the course of a college visit trip.

I agree with no more than 2 per day, ideally. But you can easily make a full week of 8-10 universities. If you live in CA and want to visit Northeast schools, you are likely taking a full week in summer or spring break and fitting in all of your kid's choices. Not really affordable to do 2 trips of 3 days each vs 7 day visit 8+ colleges.

2 was tough I think it depends upon the weather and the tour guides.
