Having a crappy diet to begin with helps. I lost 45 pounds (160 to 115) by cutting out a lot of junk and exercising more. I skipped zero meals, had snacks, ate carbs, dairy, didn't count calories, and wasn't hungry. I just cut out sugar and most processed stuff. It took about 7 months and is easy to maintain. I didn't have to live on water and vegetables.
