My child had to have but free camp lunch/snacks last week at an all day total outdoor camp with no access to refrigerator- in 90+ degree heat.
She won’t eat sun butter or hummos. She won’t eat cheese that isn’t cold. The best I could up with was whole grain fig bars (the kind in bulk section at Heath food store), whole wheat sourdough bread, fruit and veggies. It’s just lunch. They will be ok without a large protein source. I made sure she had eggs for breakfast and meat at dinner |
+1 except for the brown guac from being in a lunch box, most of the kids I know would eat this. They may prefer a cheese sandwich but it’s still pretty familiar to most middle class kids |
| pretzels, carrot sticks, sliced fruit. Just enough to tide them over until I pick them up at 1 then I make "lunch" at home. Then we go to the pool. |
| We're doing cheese sandwich, one or two fruits, and a prepackaged snack treat or two. I forgot we cant send nuts, so that's what we've got. No real point in packing vegetables, they will be thrown out. I suppose I could try for appearances. |
| Tonight I packed leftover cold pepperoni pizza, carrot sticks, zucchini coins, and M&Ms. Out of fruit at the moment or I’d add that. |
