Things change. It's our kids' school experience, not ours. |
| Back in our day, once you left school there was a good chance you may never see those people again. Now that they have social media, they're pretty much always intouch for the rest of their lives. I don't see the yearbook signings as having as much meaning to them |
| My 8th grade girl came home today and her yearbook was filled with notes and signatures. |
Their experience is staring at screens. No one know how to write or talk face to face anyway |
And you walked to school every day, uphill both ways, in the snow. |
| Elementary and middle school yearbooks?? I only bought one senior year of high school. |
Plus, I don’t even know where my yearbook is. I’ve moved so many times since high school that it probably got lost somewhere along the way. |
Same for my 7th grader! |
| Yearbooks are kind of pointless in an era of social media |
| Our 8th grader also came home with lots of signatures and signed a bunch of yearbooks. Same with our 5th grader. Several HAGS were recorded! |
+1 |
I have all my yearbooks. The kids don’t care. They have phones. |
|
My third grader got a yearbook this year and it has quite a few signatures and a few notes. He is not a "popular" kid I don't think.
I still have all my yearbooks from elementary, but I'm given to nostalgia. |
In elementary the teacher probably guides the signing event. In older grades the kids have to initiate for themselves |
My 7th grader too! She’s been taking it all week! |
