I have never warmed up to her. I am not sure why....its a great honor and congrats to her of course. But something about her personality I find off putting.

I mean, she just joined the producing team in April. The show's been in development for several years before that. It's great that she wrote a check, and she posted on social media about the show, which will certainly help ensure its continued success, but it's just not the same thing as winning for performing or being part of the creative team.

Not really. She’s a mess personally, 4 kids, three dads and she became a grandma at 32 years old. Her house was foreclosed on.

I think that poster meant her career not her personal life. Fantasia had the bigger hits. Fantasia has had a rough life, from being raped in high school, being illiterate, high school drop-out, teen mother, experiencing domestic abuse as a teen, etc. Her life has not been easy but she persevered.

Is this a serious question? My cousin had a baby at 14 and then her daughter had a child at 16. My cousin was a grandmother at age 30.

She has three children from three dads, although she has not said who her son's (middle child) father is. At the time he was born, she was having an affair with a married man, Antwaun Cook. There was a court case where the man's estranged wife was trying to sue Barrino for breaking up their marriage, but the court resolved that the couple had become separated and estranged before Barrino started dating Cook. It is largely thought that Cook is her son's father, but it is only speculation as Barrino has never said who the father is/was.

I worked with her on that show years ago. She’s a nice person and incredibly talented. Glad to see her in the film.

I'm happy for her. She went through some terrible things so every time I see her looking awesome or getting another accomplishment it makes me smile.
