I think it’s great to let him try it out. I would also get him self defense classes in case people try to bother him. Clothes are just clothes.

He now has a few, which he is wearing in the house “for now” as he says. If he decides to go out in them, I am thinking we should be supportive but also make sure he is safe. Thoughts on how to navigate it all?

We know a young man who wears sarongs with leggings as a compromise. Have you looked at Boy Wonder? There may be some good options.

Just let your child dress how they like. Gender norms be damned. Support your child where they are right now.

I'm sure your hypothetical child will be getting out of your as soon as possible, so I guess that works, huh?

My guess is her real children are also leaving asap!

+1 I have no idea what’s wrong with some people.

We have b/g twins and our boy was interested in dresses for some time. We just let him wear his sister's dresses. Now, he is gender police and would be embarrassed if we reminded him of that phase.

Secular progressives—attack the last poster for suggesting kids go through phases!!!!

Why? Wearing dresses isn't a permanent thing -- he can wear them now and change his mind/fashion sense at any time.

OP: No real answer to your question but Primary has a hoodie dress that might make a good transition piece: It comes in all sorts of color. I have a red one for my son who does not wear dresses but is cold and wanted a hoodie to cover his butt.

The movie that just came out “senior year” shows boys in skirts.

Perhaps follow some men on Instagram that wear dresses/skirts to help with styling.
