Just checked in with FDA source. I missed a key word. The planned name-designation is Sweet Tea Leaf.

Doesn't mean it will be legalized, but it if/when it is, it will be called Sweet Tea Leaf, at least on an official basis.

As much as I’m desperately wanting this to happen, it CANNOT be allowed to happen BEFORE the election. It needs to be a campaign promise, something to drive people to the polls for. If it becomes law before the election, voters won’t turn out for us. People need to have incentive. Making it federally legal everywhere before the election removes all incentive for people to turn out to vote.

Republicans are rumored to be considering proposing legislation to legalize at the federal level.

Why is this? It seems misleading? And confusing with the common usage of “tea” in a way that seems very unlike the FDA.

Because it's non-factual. A fiction.

Upon legalization, they're going with the term "Sweet Tea Leaf."

This, sadly.

The house needs to make this a major campaign issue for 2023 so dems can campaign on it nationally.

If we give it away now, millions of people who are already less than enthusiastic about voting for dems in November will stay home, because we already gave them what they wanted.

Lmao they’re already there and they’re busy with customers all the time. I go around 12 during the week and I’m always the youngest at 35.

I like that they're going to license it as Sweet Tea Leaf. It has an old-school, traditional sort of feel.

What nonsense are you talking about? It’ll be called cannabis.

You'd think that, but no. They've done a lot of focus group testing, and more importantly there are some big-money interests at play here influencing the proceedings.

In any case, if it is legalized (and that is still a big if), the 'legal' term will be Sweet Tea Leaf.

Once legal, if you wish to call it cannabis, or pot, or anything else, that will be up to the individual, but the official, licensed term will be Sweet Tea Leaf.

No way will republicans allow this.
