It’s not a nice place to work for. They use tactic B all of the time. If you are a VP, they will offer you a manager role at 50% of your salary. Of course no one is going to take that…
How comfortable are you with risk? It sounds really risky to stay and it sounds like severance is extremely unlikely since tactic B is used all the time. Are you playing a game of chicken to see if you can get a job offer you want?
I think the rescue boat is here and I’d get on it. Who knows if another one will come by in time.
