Which of these kids would you take to swim practice?

Yesterday, coughing a fair amount, congested, seemed off. I didn’t take someone else kid’s temp. Mom reports “better” today.

so sick kid was coughing and congested yesterday and seemed off. Their home covid test was negative. They are doing better today. So of COURSE healthy sibling can go to practice. and OF COURSE friend of healthy sibling can go to practice. In terms of sick kid- probably not? but maybe?? are they coughing and congested today? or was it a one day thing?
I have no idea why people would go get a PCR for this. If it is covid, and all it causes is one day of mild symptoms- MOVE ON.

You can take your kid and decline to carpool if it makes you more comfortable.

If a parent brought an actively coughing kid to swim practice, we would all judge them HARD. Even if it's not COVID (which it still could be), why are you so selfish that you are going to risk other kids getting sick? Stay home.

agreed.

My swimmer tested once when everyone around them had it, including both parents, negative test and no symptoms, carry on. Didn't miss a practice.

It doesn't matter if it's COVID or not - keep your sick kid home.

Symptomatic kid should stay home because they’re sick - whether it’s covid or not is a totally different issue.

Kids without symptoms can go.

Take them all

Asymptomatic kids go to practice unless you know they have Covid with a + test.

Who do YOU take? Just your own kid. Is the mom asking you to drive her two kids to swimming? I would say no.

If I were the mom with the sick kid, I’d take the healthy kid but not the sick kid unless the test comes back.

none! swim practice is not essential. why potentially put other kids at risk. wait until you have results from something other than rapid test.

I would take them all.

This. And I - double vaxxed and double boosted - would be fine driving the sibling who doesn’t feel ill.

This. Don't send a sick kid to school or sports practice or a play date or anywhere else. I don't care if it's Covid, the flu or strep throat. Don't get other people sick.

Pending PCR and Covid symptoms? Mom is a complete jerk if she sends that kid to practice. I'd ask the coach to ensure my child was in a different lane.
