Agreed. But do have your kid make a card. |
| If you contribute to the class gift do you need to do something individually as well, except maybe a card from the child? |
| If you can't afford it then don't worry about it! I think $10 is sufficient. We give a lot to people who volunteer their time and A LOT to our bus driver and teacher. It makes me really happy to do this though so if it's stressful, please know that other people contribute so that it all works out in the end. |

I feel very frustrated that TAW and EOY are so close to each other. I have kids in three care systems and even at $5 a person that would add up to more than $100 two months back to back. And generally I put in a lot more than that.
Having parents be expected to fund both of these well so close together just sets people up to fail. |
| My Kindergartener‘s room parent asked for $45 from each parent. I sent it and they ended up with $300 and a bouquet. So I’m assuming not everyone abides. |
OMG, that's insane and our family would not be able to afford it. I hate it when that happens. What if families can't afford it? Is it acceptable to give gifts and not gift cards? |

I gave big for teacher appreciation week. I will have my 2nd grader make a card, and give a little candy to her teachers next week. I just want them to know we love them and appreciate them. She has reported her teacher's favorite kind of candy to me, so we'll give her that. If its' wrong, oh well!

Agreed, but all kids should make a card, not just the kids from families who can't afford to give gift money. |
+Million. You really don't have to give or do anything. |
| We gifted $20 to the soccer coach (who is absolutely amazing and has helped do wonders for our daughters confidence) and will do the same for her 2 lead teachers. |
