Vaccinated Kid - go to school if parent has covid?

If there is covid in your home, you certainly are at risk for spreading it but life does need to happen. I would send my kids to school masked but not have them attend optional activities like bday parties etc until the household is testing negative.

That’s basically what we did— school (with a kn95) after 5 days, but skipping things like swim practice where you cannot mask.

I could have written your post, OP. DH tested positive last week and immediately began isolating from us. We have taken rapids every day, temp check, etc. None of us have any symptoms 5 days later, and no positive tests. DC going to school (APS) wearing KN95.

Now our question is how long does DH have to keep isolating? He's still testing positive. His symptoms have been pretty mild.

Op here. We sent both kids yesterday but today I tested positive too and we opted to keep them home although they are both still negative. Yesterday felt morally ambiguous but today it felt really wrong to send them. A noble decision maybe, but also sort of personally foolish since they have tons of energy right now

If it helps you make the decision tomorrow they are potentially getting more Covid exposure at home than they would at school.

Op here and I definitely agree on this point. We wrestled with the decision based on this. But ultimately decided to keep them home since we are all low risk and vaccinated.
