Did anyone start with a Gabb phone for middle school?

If they did I might find this to be more a feature than a bug. It’s good for kids to learn to not always go with the crowd. I started middle school I didn’t have a phone.
My first dumb phone was after 9/11, and it was because my dad was in the Pentagon, and I had PTSD every time he went out.

My DD (13) has a Gabb phone and it works for now. She likes texting with her friends and since they aren’t glued to their phones she isn’t asking to upgrade. I think that will probably change in HS but I am holding off on a smartphone for as long as possible.
