I cannot imagine raising a family around such violence. Must feel so helpless.

Yep - almost as terrible as living in a suburban community and having your churches, schools, and movie theaters shot up in monthly mass shootings. Must feel so helpless - how could you ever leave your front door?

Violent crime in DC is up 26% this year over last year.

DC is 26% more vibrant over last year.

The only local mass shooting this year has been in DC.

You mean the one perpetrated by a Fairfax, Virginia teenager and resident? That mass shooting?

There are a lot of reasons to live in DC. Lower crime is not one of them. Whatever helps you sleep at night, though.

There are a lot of reasons to live in suburbia, but these days the idyllic sense of safety is far gone. Whether its the grocery store or a concert or a movie theater or a school classroom (from elementary to high school).

The DC suburbs have their fair share of crime, but let’s be honest: Suburban crime rates pale in comparison to what’s happening in DC these days, and the city is only getting worse.

Why even entertain that poster? DC has had 74 homicides between January 2022 and May 17, 2022 which is more than all of last year (70 homicides in 2021). Since someone mentioned Fairfax County above ... the county had 21 homicides in all of 2021. DC isn't going to win this round of "whataboutism."

Just waiting on someone to say "But chain restaurants!!" as if its a KO argument against the suburbs.

The more violence, the more street cred the "urbanist" mid west transplants have. It's just city life babe, get into it.
