??? PP was answering OPs question. |

I waited tables at a Clyde’s twenty years and we had the functionality to easily split checks. Especially if you are using the seat functionality where you are attributing entire meals to the seat in question.
Huge parties can be a pill but come on. In 2022, if your Applebees is denying you this functionality, it’s not because it doesn’t exist and it all has to be done manually. |
And in the US, staff get 20-25 percent tips. It’s the least they can do. |
they want more |

You guys what century do you live in? My credit card has functionality to split checks with everyone on table on its own.
|
+1. If you are at a corporate-owned restaurant it really is not a big deal for the waiter to spit a check. |
Who would ask the people you just ate with what too they are leaving?! |
+ 1. Gotta to *something* to earn that tip. |
I'm glad you are not asking us to order the same items too! |
| Related, is it unreasonable if we go out with 4 people to give 4 credit cards and ask to split it evenly. Is that annoying or reasonable? |
| I rarely have the need to ask for a split check. If they don't do it, I take 5% off the tip. Deal with it. |
Not the wait staff….but cmon. Venmo each other. One to two cards is max. |
Maybe not where you work(ed), but in plenty of restaurants I and my many server friends staffed, it is. |
What a jerk position. Don't kid yourself - - the 'tip' is their wage. They're otherwise getting $2/hour. Don't be a jerk. |
Did you read the thread title? OP asked whether it is annoying to ask for separate checks. So PP was answering the question. Don't be an asshat. |
