| Not sure if you're working with a clinic, but just in case -- I did IVF with Columbia Fertility after Shady Grove Fertility let me know I was too fat (an opinion they shared after having my weight on file for actual months, very cool). Different medical professionals have different BMI cut-offs, BMI is trash, and fat women have babies all the time. |
| Sounds like you have hormonal issues not a willpower issue loosing weight won’t make your tumor go away or prevent GD |
Diabetic women have babies all the time, so you can too. You will need to manage the pre diabetes/GD if it happens again, but don’t let that stop you. How old are you? Do you want kids close in age? |
| OP, not sure if it's safe while TTC, but intermittent fasting has worked wonders for me. |
| OP: update still not pregnant; turned 36 in July; lost 30 pounds total so far….20 more lbs to go….thanks for the responses |
OP: Thank you, how did you get this medication prescribed to you? Did you go to a specific weight loss clinic? I did the Phen Pro for a little bit and worked pretty good. |
No. Your primary care doctor can prescribe it. |
I wouldn't mess around with prescription drugs while trying to conceive (and I've been on Ozempic since mid-July with no weight loss, so there's that). Sounds like you're doing fine on your own, OP. Good luck! |
Great job OP! I have always had a healthy BMI and I had GD with both my pregnancies. Hopefully Drs aren't telling you that losing weight will prevent GD |
