TTC but too fat; 50 lbs overweight

Not sure if you're working with a clinic, but just in case -- I did IVF with Columbia Fertility after Shady Grove Fertility let me know I was too fat (an opinion they shared after having my weight on file for actual months, very cool). Different medical professionals have different BMI cut-offs, BMI is trash, and fat women have babies all the time.

Sounds like you have hormonal issues not a willpower issue loosing weight won’t make your tumor go away or prevent GD

Lost another 5 pounds though so now I have 35 more pounds to go….even if I lose the additional 35 lbs. I’m in no way considered healthy or thin by my docs (probably would need another 30 lbs after that to be somewhat normal but not thin either)

Diabetic women have babies all the time, so you can too. You will need to manage the pre diabetes/GD if it happens again, but don’t let that stop you. How old are you? Do you want kids close in age?

OP, not sure if it's safe while TTC, but intermittent fasting has worked wonders for me.

OP: Thank you, how did you get this medication prescribed to you? Did you go to a specific weight loss clinic? I did the Phen Pro for a little bit and worked pretty good.

No. Your primary care doctor can prescribe it.

I wouldn't mess around with prescription drugs while trying to conceive (and I've been on Ozempic since mid-July with no weight loss, so there's that). Sounds like you're doing fine on your own, OP. Good luck!

Great job OP! I have always had a healthy BMI and I had GD with both my pregnancies. Hopefully Drs aren't telling you that losing weight will prevent GD
