| Disappointed in myself. Would love to try for baby #two right now but I’m too fat and losing motivation. Would need to lose around 50 lbs, lost about 10 so far but I’m really frustrated with myself and it just turns into a cycle. I’m procrastinating and would love a quick and easy fix… |
| Fat people have babies all of the time. Work on your weight, sure, but give yourself some grace. |
| I was over 300 pounds for my last two pregnancies. I spent all of my 20s yo yo dieting hoping to get healthy enough for pregnancy. Then had two back to back pregnancies in my 30s after major lifestyle changes |
| Why can't you have a baby when fat? Confused. |
] Not sure if this is OP's issue, but some fertility clinics won't see patients over a certain weight. |
| Try acupuncture, not joking. |
| Metformin. It's a well known fertility drug, very safe and good for weight loss. Ask your doctor for it. |
Where does OP indicate she needs a fertility clinic? OP, do you have a husband? |
|
I mean realistically there's no quick and easy fix to lose 50 pounds. If you did manage to lose it quickly you'd almost certainly be doing so dangerously (and would likely regain it). Real weightloss is made with sustainable choices. It's rarely safe to lose more than a couple pounds a week.
Remember, your health matters. |
| I don’t understand. Why can’t you have a baby now? |
|
I’m a fat mom. More than 100 lbs overweight. Conceived and birthed two normal babies and pregnancies, no problems. Unless you’re in your early 20s, you’ve got to weigh the risks of conceiving while overweight with the risks to fertility decline and chromosomal abnormalities from having kids as you age.
I always lost weight while pregnant, strangely. |
| I was 50lbs overweight when I had both of my children and both times got pregnant two months after stopping birth control. I gained 10lbs with each child and weighed less after giving birth than I did when I got pregnant. Then I lost about 25lbs breastfeeding. My kids were both around 7lbs and remain healthy and perfect at ages 8 and 11. |
Also wondering. If it is a weight-related sexual disfunction issue, couldn’t you just do a round of IUI ? |
|
OP: I’m pre-diabetic and had gestational diabetes with last pregnancy, also have a small tumor in pituitary gland (prolactin levels are off unless I’m on meds)
Lost another 5 pounds though so now I have 35 more pounds to go….even if I lose the additional 35 lbs. I’m in no way considered healthy or thin by my docs (probably would need another 30 lbs after that to be somewhat normal but not thin either) |
| Get on Ozempic. The pounds will come off easily and your metabolic health will be improved overall |
