| Dafuq is “certified used” other than some marketing nonsense to make you overpay? |
These are usually sold by dealers of the brand of car in question and carry factory benefits such as an extended warranty. They are usually, not always, but usually better quality trade in or leased vehicles with clean repair and accident history. It's a bit more assurance that it's a good vehicle, not 100% certain but it is usually worth an additional premium. |
| DH bought an 8 month old Acura that was CPO. Instead of getting the standard 4 years/50k miles warranty he has a 6 year/100k mile warranty. And it was a few thousand off the new price and only had 4k miles on it. This was a few year ago - still love the car. |
| Tiguans are really nice and can be new ones bought for about 35K. They have small 3rd row seats though. |

You can buy a brand new Chevy Traverse with three rows for 35k.
My wife a big Japanese fan we bought one and we got one as the used car prices are so crazy Japanese cars. I have kids in college I do long long drives so wanted a warranty which a four year old Japanese suv does not |
| You should just buy new. Used cars cost about the same as new cars. I just got a new Mazda CX-9 touring, has leather seats and third row. Third row is alright for my small teens but no real cargo space when all seats are up. My stroller does fit when all seats are up but just barely and nothing else. With taxes tags and whatever else I paid $39k |
