Great movie. Save it for the full family, fine for all but the most sensitive 8-year olds, just need to talk about some of the things that didn't hold up that well like sexism and cultural stereotypes. |

We did a marathon of these older movies during the beginning of the pandemic.
Here are a few my kids loved: Real Genius Hackers Oceans 11 The Karate Kid Back to the Future The Princess Bride Ferris Bueller's Day Off Forest Gump Men in Black Fast Times at Ridgemont High October Sky Glory Road |

Oceans 11 is a great suggestion!
Mrs. Doubtfire was funny to me when I was young, but I showed it to my tween recently and it struck me as incredibly sad. I was trying not to cry for part of it. She loved it, though! What about a James Bond or Mission Impossible movie. They’re tremendously violent but also pretty exciting. Bourne Identity is another one like that. |
| Hoosiers |
| My kids love the Adam Sandler movies and movies like Paul Blart: Mall Cop. |

Chariots of Fire

Rear window-my kids LOVED it
The lord of the rings movies Romy and Michelle’s high school reunion 10 things I hate about you Romancing the Stone |
| Mrs Doubtfire is fine for younger kids, isn’t it? I wouldn’t show that to a 13 yr old as something that’s not appropriate for a younger sibling. |

Are you serious? It’s practically porn! |

Mine loved Monty python holy grail, like princess bride, hated ET and thought karate kid was okay.
Young Frankenstein and war games are on my list for him. I think he’s like the matrix too and Jurassic park. The old comedies have some really raunchy and often offensive bits—we grew up watching the Tv versions and I’ve been shocked a couple of times by the uncut versions. I love bad news bears but you’d need to have a conversation about one scene in which one kid reels off every racial slur. |
