Did your kids stay friends with any preschool friends?

Yes, because most live in the neighborhood, do the same rec sports, summer camp, pool & swim team. I also make an effort to keep up with play dates with the kids whose families we like.

No, but I know some that do if the parents are friends. They often do hang on for the early years but fall off eventually

We aren't military but live in a town next to a base, so many of the military families live in our town. I can think of 3 kids my son became buddies with in preschool, mom friended me on Facebook, we had park playdates, texted each other to meet up at kid activities, etc etc. One kid I even babysat 1 day a week after kindergarten for 6 months. And when they were relocated to another base, the mom unfriended me and I never heard from them again. Isn't that weird?

Me again. To clarify, I mean at different times over the 2 years after preschool, each of these families moved away, each mom unfriended me, and none of them ever answered my texts again.

To answer OPs question, nope. My oldest didn't have a playdate type pre-school co-hort. My youngest did, but that fell off around second grade. None of the kids ended up at the same elementary school.

Yes, DD is 8 now and still friends with a few kids from nursery school. It helps that the moms and I became friends as well.

No. None at our schools. I am still friends with some moms, and therefore the kids see each other, but no, the kids are not friends.

Yes, but we attend the same church and they went to the same sleepaway camp for several summers, so there were lots of close bonding experiences. It’s kind of nice that the boys have friends separate from their schools and travel sports teams.
