But why? Who cares if he did or if he didn’t. It would be a different story if he sent the photo and said “look at this pic I took of a copperhead in my yard!” But he didn’t.
DP. It doesn't really matter, but OP is distressed wondering if he played a lied to her. This is an easy way to find out, if he lies and says "yes, I took the photo" she'll know. If he responds that it's a stock photo then she'll know he wasn't trying to torment her.

Yes, OP, just ask your neighbor. And get help for your social anxiety and many phobias. I can tell fear of snakes is only the tip of the iceberg.

Agree. It will help OP know whether he was legit trying to warn her and it was the first photo he found, or if he claims he took it… she knows he’s arse.

Agree that neighbor probably sent that photo as an example. Not that he took that actual photo. However who knows if the snake he saw was actually a copperhead. May be he misidentified. Lots of people have no idea.

My mom does stuff like this all the time. It's frustrating, but it is what it is.

Copperheads are around here, though.

This. OP your neighbor may have seen a copperhead, didn't have their phone to take an actual photograph at the time, so sent you an example of one that's camouflaged (on teh google) that looks like what he saw just to give you an idea of what to look out for.

No. The OPs neighbor is a POS and I've seen jealous or irritable people do irrational things like this just to steal someone's joy.

So horrible.

This is OP. I'm sorry I was not clear in my first post and did not include some other details:

1. The neighbor was very clear that it is a copperhead in the photo.

2. I specifically asked him if the picture of the snake was from his house. He said yes and gave the detailed description of where he found the snake in the photo.

3. If you google image "copperhead camouflage" the first stock photo you see there is the picture he sent to me. Again, he said the picture he sent to me was from his yard.

4. He also said he did not kill the snake (he knows I wouldn't have like that), but boxed it up and drove it to a remote area.

5. I'm a loner by choice. I don't have social anxiety. I just don't care to be close to many people.

I googled it and that’s one crazy photo. I couldn’t find the snake until I scrolled down to the bottom of the photo. I don’t know, stay away from that neighborhood. He sounds crazy.

I would make light of it though, since he does sound crazy. Reply something like - haha that was a good one! You really got me. I showed the photo to a someone and they told me it was a viral pic online. Jokes on me.

You did share it with others. All of us so it’s not a lie.
