| I caught my hand in the door of a car when I was 10 or so. Swollen and sore for a day or so, but nothing was broken! |

If it seems fine and she has no pain, she's likely fine.
To add to the stories....My friend literally had her foot run over by an insane driver in downtown Silver Spring! She went to the ER and nothing was broken at all! Her foot was bruised for awhile but she was walking normally within 2-3 days. Bodies are really weird. |
| If fingers bend funny, like DC can feel a click or just not bending right, there can be tendon or cartilage stuff going on that requires a splint or taping. I'd go to urgent care for eval. |

These stories are crazy. There’s no swelling on the fingers today, maybe a tiny bit of bruising behind one. I’ve seen worse before.
I know that if it’s broken and not detected it can cause issues when healing. However DC lets me touch and squeeze all the bones and joints without flinching, which seems really impossible even with a mild fracture. Last time a similar injury happened the doctor said no need to X-ray as many fractures aren’t detectable right away. Just splint for two weeks. I’m frankly not sure if to do even that. - OP |
Not exactly the same, but… my kid came home from middle school one day w a swollen finger, said he jammed it in pe. Went to the nurse, ice pack, etc. He could move it and said it wasn’t hurting any more so I didn’t really think about it again. A week or so later it was still incredibly swollen. We went to the Dr and it was fractured. I was very surprised bc I figured it would have been hurting/immobile/otherwise somehow evident alll along that something was wrong. So I guess I’m saying, keep an eye on it. As I’m sure you would
