I'm not saying lock your kid up - I recognize the overall risk is low - but I understand wanting a vaccine for these kids.

DP I'm not a fan of belittling parents as the PP does (stop with the "seek help" jabs people - it's really not a good look). But it's also not appropriate to center your young child's life around avoiding COVID, unless there are some truly high risk people in your family. PP is totally correct that being under 5 makes a child extremely low risk, more so than a vaxxed and boosted adult. Early childhood development is extremely important. After the first couple of years of life, children need all of the socialization they can get, yet our public health authorities insist we need to continue to keep young children away from each other and other people on the basis that they are not vaccinated. For example, the CDC's website ( https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/groups/families-covid-19.html?msclkid=3bfe1e2bba8611eca800d9dbd9c491a8 ) currently states:

"People who are not up to date on their COVID-19 vaccines and children under 5 years old who are not able to get a COVID-19 vaccine should continue taking steps to prevent getting sick." When you click on the hyperlink that tells you about "steps to prevent getting sick", the recommended steps include:

- Wear a mask
- Stay six feet away from others
- Avoid poorly ventilated spaces and crowds

Basically, all children should continue to isolate from other people. WTF? That is not appropriate two years into the pandemic. I really cannot fully emphasize how concerned I am about the developmental impacts on children whose families have put COVID above all other priorities when their children are in their key developmental years.

FFS! If you don’t like or agree with the preschool policy - don’t send your kid to that preschool. Guessing about when there will be a vaccine, if you’re going to vaccinated, if the schools will require the vaccine. etc if beyond STUPID,
