Well, Feng shui is bullshit, so nobody's right. |
My parents are Chinese immigrants and I grew up in a house that was the single number 4. We had no problems living there all of my childhood. They subsequently sold the house to another Chinese family. No one ever commented on the significance of the house number. I have heard that a street or walkway leading straight to the front door is bad feng shui. I’m not superstitious, but I do avoid houses like this from an aesthetic, practical point of view. |
+1! It’s so cool. Thanks for sharing. |
Just like the number 13 here, the number 4 in many parts of Asia is considered bad luck. You won't find a "4th" floor in many buildings, instead it'll just skip to 5th, just like how in the US many buildings skip the number 13.
The curved path to the front door is also an Asian superstition. It's so ghosts and bad spirits can walk straight into your house. A lot of Asian people think that the number 8 is auspicious, so a house number with 8 is considered a good omen. |
I mean, "can't." |
I'm going to try it this weekend. ![]() |
