in-state Virginia options, not huge school?

JMU is not a small school, but it has an Intelligence Analysis major which is very selective. Only about 60 kids are selected (if I recall correctly). It’s an excellent major with strong ties to the IC and private industry. Don’t know if that’s what your son is interested in? They also have International Affairs with three different concentrations, one of which is International Conflict and Security.

OP my DC wants same major/minor. What a coincidence! Good luck. Maybe they’ll end together at CNU. A dear family friends sent their daughter there over many other good choices. She is loving it.

Son with similar profile at CNU. Doing quite well.

PS he was able to get most all of his classes in person classes at CNU in 2020-21 which was key to success.

Check the major and minors offered for each school, they might not all have the major and minor he wants.

They are great schools, but they are big. OP specifically said they thought kid preferred small. Since they got into two great small schools (UMW and CNU) it really makes sense to choose between those two in this instance for this student.

I know the school is large but that does not always translate into large classes. Are the classes crazy large?

OP if you don’t mind- what we’re stats if your child? Mine is hoping for those schools but stats aren’t anywhere near 4.0.
