Herbivores I have known:

| She needs protein and fat. Maybe she shouldn't be a vegan or whatever she is. If she can't handle not having breakfast/lunch/dinner and a snack then she needs a doctors note. Can you pack mini luna bars or mini Lara bars so she can eat them quickly during a bathroom break? |
|
Break protein bars into very little bitesize bits and keep a baggie full of them in her pocket.
But I totally agree with PP -- you are enabling very high maintenance behavior. |
She needs to eat a full breakfast with protein and fat to carry her through to lunch. Grazing is a bad habit that will not serve her well in life. My T1D DD has medical permissions and has only needed to eat during class once this year. |
| Herbivore? Come on, OP. Just say vegan like the rest of us. Your family sounds annoying. |
I have never heard this and truer words have never been spoken. OP, no. If your daughter's vegan diet requires her to graze all the time, she might need to adjust her diet. If your daughter needs to eat during class, she should talk to her teacher and this has nothing to do with you. Also, never ever mention this during the admissions process as you will sound high maintenance and annoying. |
| Homeschool groups have set snack times in the morning and afternoon. |
| What is the medical condition that underlies this need? If there isn’t one, it’s time to put on the big girl pants and learn that sometimes we need to make adjustments (even if it involves retooling your dietary worldview as herbivores). |
| Ugh. First world problems.....tell her to wait |
| Will she be OK? Yes. Ooooff. Seriously? |
| Herbivore? Like a rabbit? |
Dr. Grey? |
Yes. Herbivore. I think she uses the term "vegan," however. |
It makes no sense. Child needs to learn to eat at normal times and stop the snacking except when at home or a medical condition. We are vegetarian. Never been an issue. Feed the kid a big breakfast. |
|
Oh dear god, are you for real? You have created an entitled child who feels that her non-medical diet needs to be accommodated. Your child is not suffering from some diagnosable disease that requires her to eat at specific intervals. She is not, for example, diabetic, right?
You need an attitude check. Schools should not accommodate your DD's desire to eat whenever she wants. There are set snack times, lunch times, and after school. She can quickly snarf down a protein bar in between classes if she "needs" to. But do not go around thinking that your request is a reasonable one. It is not. |
