Infertility Support and Discussion

Op again. For the young FSH posters, you did ivf or got pg on your own with lots of drugs? How much money total are we talking about?
Thanks. OB finally called and referred me to Dr. DiMattina.... |
| I'd be very cautious about pinning my hopes on Dr DiMattina (read all the previous posts about him). I don't think he's particularly high fsh friendly. I'd consider one of the high fsh friendly docs at Shady Grove or Dr Sacks at Columbia Fertility. |
| If you don't have insurance coverage for IVF, I highly recommend doing the shared risk program at Shady Grove and going to Stillman, Levy or another RE who treats a lot of high FSH-ers. I am 33 and my FSH is 10.3 and I ended up spending about $5,000/round on drugs before switching to the shared risk with med program. In the end, I got my money refunded to me and went to Dr Davis at Cornell where my first round worked, but hopefully you'll have success in DC. the fact that you already have a child is a great sign!!!! |
| not all high fsh patients qualify for SG's shared risk program. |

17:54, what did you do at cornell?
I just feel that with 21.47 there is no hope after all I've been reading... |
| Young high FSHer here -went to Rifka at CFA. First cycle cancelled due to poor response, second cycle successful. |
| 20:13, what drugs and how much of them were you taking? |
I work in Maryland and IVF coverage is mandated in the state for business w/more that 50 employees. I didn't pay anything but office co-pays. I did IVF. |
| Not to be discouraging, but even mandated insurance coverage may have a FSH cut off, though. |
There is no FSH cut off with the Maryland mandate. |
