How are you all defining “genuinely nice”? I mean, anybody can be very nice during a surface-level interaction such as an activity dropoff. All they have to do is smile and be cheerful, compliment you/your kid, provide recs for restaurants or rainy day activities.
But to know if someone is truly kind, you would have to know them more deeply. Are they the type of person who clears their calendar to help you out during a family emergency? Offers to drive your kid to the activity when you have work conflicts, even though you can’t immediately reciprocate? Is very warm, welcoming, and helpful? That’s what I define as genuinely nice and it wouldn’t be apparent to me at activity dropoff.
