If you go with a blazer, get something like this. It's polished but casual: https://www.jcrew.com/p/womens/categories/clothing/blazers/going-out/going-out-blazer-in-stretch-twill/H2743?display=standard&fit=Classic&color_name=navy&colorProductCode=H2743

Sorry, but I disagree on this jacket. I don't think meeting the boss for the first time should be in a cropped jacket of any kind. |
New poster - this jacket is the type of jacket I’d wear with jeans, and if you look at the measurements, it’s not cropped. The first picture is a little misleading. |
PP. Because the office dress code is jeans and hoodies. Wearing a suit or slacks makes it looks like you can’t read a room and get a feel for the culture, which makes others think that maybe you have bad judgment at worst, or are clueless at best. Definitely look nice. Sharp. Polished. But wear dark jeans or other casual non slack pants. |
| I would not wear jeans, especially if you don’t know where you are going. You do not want to be underdressed for the restaurant. Black pants and a nice top or blazer. Don’t overthink it. But think it enough to avoid jeans! |
| Stretchy black pants and a lightweight sweater or blouse. No blazer, especially now that it's warming up. |
I mean, assume she’s going to find out where she is going before she departs for the restaurant. OP, just have a fancier option available for a last minute switch. |

A shoe like this will work with jeans or black pants. |
The photos in black are confusing. Hoodie under a blazer? |
That’s not cropped if OP is under 5’8” |
Maybe black jeans are the holy grail here |
