| I have a Hamilton Beach ToastStation, it's the dual toaster/toaster oven. |

Back in my first college apartment, in the mid-'90s one of my girlfriends moved in with a toaster oven, and oh, how we teased for her it. I didn't realize they still made them, thought they'd gone out with the '70s.
I've owned one ever since.

| I've always thought toaster ovens were fire hazards, but maybe I just bought cheap toaster ovens. If you do opt for the oven, buy something high, high quality. |
| If you eat a lot of toast, then both. A toaster can be bought for $15. I found making the toast it the toaster oven too slow. Also needed to watch it or it burned. |
I agree on buying a good toaster oven, of course, but not sure why a toaster oven would be more of a fire hazard than a regular toaster. I imagine they're equally dangerous if they're cheap, or if you don't empty them regularly. |
I'll admit it - I caught my toaster oven on fire. I think some cheese melted into the bottom and onto the hot bars. And it caught on fire. luckily I just turned it off, kept it closed (while standing there with a bag of flour) and it went out. But the fire of the cheap one allowed me to buy my newer convection model one. No fires.....yet. I'm also more careful about melting cheese. |
| Cuisinart. Convection/toaster oven. It's fabulous. |

I use both. I use the toaster for toast because it is much quicker.
I got my toaster oven at Costco, it is great! We use the toaster oven daily. For the kids I make quesadillas, pizzas, sweet potato fries, small casseroles, baked potato, broiled fish, single serving of cookies, and the list goes on and on. I hardly ever turn on my oven since I get the toaster oven-and I even have a small pizza oven, that I used to use, but now opt for the even smaller toaster oven. |
