NIPT results!

It's important to keep in mind that these are screening tests and show you probability. They are not diagnostic with a yes/no answer. They're meant to help you make an informed decision about whether or not you want diagnostic testing.

I have mine Monday and the anticipation is
Killing me!

Mine took 9 days back in November. Everything came back normal and still lost the baby a few weeks later. I hate that I now no longer feel the test is a safety milestone

Mine took about the same amount of time, did not come back normal (basically an in-womb death sentence), sent me on a spiral, and I ended up having a perfectly healthy baby. Take it all with a grain of salt.

Not to threadjack, but same(ish). Screened positive for neural tube defect, was told baby might have an improperly developed brain (or no brain(!)). Later confirmed with an ultrasound that there was nothing wrong, but definitely spiralled for a week in between

I think you are thinking of the AFP screen? Different test.

Mine just took 4 days. Sample collected 3/1 through LabCorp at the Bethesda office of GWU MFA. Just got results today on 3/4.

Yikes. How far along? Could they tell what happened?

I'm a different poster, but I too had squeaky-clean NIPT results, numerous "perfect" ultrasounds, and no indication of anything wrong, yet my daughter died well into my second trimester. There were no signs of cervical incompetence, infection, congenital or chromosomal abnormalities, placental abnormalities, or anything else wrong. Her cord was perfect, she was perfect, and they couldn't find anything wrong with me, either.

With a different pregnancy, my NIPT test correctly identified Trisomy 18.

That gives me hope- my some was collected there 3/2. Any chance you also did the first trimester screening and have a sense of the turnaround for that?

My practice just told me it could take a couple weeks. Last time took I think 6 business days, that was 3 years ago.

Hoping they are wrong. I think they just say that though so people don’t get mad after a couple days.

Oh, I guess so. It was all done together for me and I got all the results at the same time.

Did you get a personal code when you got the blood draw? My NIPT was through Myriad and I was able to track progress on their website.

Did gwu mfa Wednesday afternoon and got results Monday morning so 5 days including weekend

It’s not usually dependent on the particular practice (unless they get results and just don’t call you). They send it off to the company for analysis so it depends which screening you’re using.

My 5 day return was via labcorp.

Does anyone have recent turnaround time for the first trimester fingerstick? We're waiting to announce until then and trying to figure out a family gathering timing

This is OP!

Reporting back, NIPT blood draw at Reiter Hill on Monday, I received my results today. I was told it would take a week so I was pleasantly surprised!

Good luck to others!!
