I have one cat that can have 3 squealing screaming kid running towards him and he will not flinch. He’ll just be like yawn. Another cat you turn and breathe in his direction and he goes omg they’re after me and runs. I hope all the pets remain safe with their owners or are able to get rescued to safety. |
| Does anyone know of any reputable organizations that are helping people with their pets and animals in Ukraine? |
| Given how many pictures I've seen of people fleeing or hunkering down WITH their pets, the pet-haters here should probably shut up about how they don't matter. They obviously DO matter to their humans in Ukraine. |
PETA |
LOL, sorry, no. Trying to help the animals not go on a PR campaign telling people they are murderers for eating turkey on Thanksgiving. I give +/- 30k a year in animal welfare donations and wouldn't let PETA access a cent in it. |
Not those nut jobs. |
| I’ve been really impressed with how all the places seem to be waiving any restrictions on people bringing pets. It so often adds to the trauma or causes people not to evacuate if they can’t bring their pets. The humane/human thing to do is to allow families to bring their pets, if that is their choice. My kids would barely care about losing our house or their toys but losing our dog would be emotionally crushing, and they really rely on him in any emotionally challenging period. |
| I spoke with my relative in Dripro (large Ukrainian city) today. She said that the two dogs live on a nearby construction site. The construction workers used to feed them every day but now that they abandoned the site, the dogs are there alone. Every day when my relative walks her dog, she brings food to these two dogs. |
I don’t belong to PETA, but they probably think you’re a nut job too. |

I just saw this organization that is helping the pets of Ukraine

That is so kind of her. I hope she is doing ok. |
you may not agree with every stance that have. But factually they are on the ground helping animals currently in the Ukraine. |
| The images of Ukrainians taking their pets is an emotional symbol of humanity in the face of inhuman horror. |
