The most camps will be in the economic hubs of the region. Burlington, Hanover, Portland, southern NH. And while you might want to be in less urban areas, even if you’re in Manchester NH you have tons of nice hiking and lakes/ponds within an hour. |
Not sure of ages of kids, but Williamstown would have sports camps and I’m assuming other college campuses would as well. |
Do you need to be near an Ocean or do lakes suffice? Lots of great options in Maine & New Hampshire. I'd look at Lake Winnipesaukee in NH & the coast of Maine (below Bar Harbour). If you go slightly inland, it's def more affordable but you are still close to the shore. |
We go to cape cod/woods hole. All the camps are booked already FYI and good rentals go by January. |
You should be able to find a rental in the Berkshires still. |
