Baltimore Restaurant Rec for kids

It’s the Miss Shirley’s hater! Haven’t seen you around for a while.

OP, I’ve never had a bad meal at Miss Shirley’s. Yes, it’s popular, but it’s popular for a reason.

+1
If you are up by Hampden, Golden West is good too.
Ice cream at the Charmery for dessert.

My kids love this place. I grew up in Hampden and this was my teen hangout so I love going there too.

If you want quick and easy and never crowded at the Inner Harbor, Uno's is a good option. Yes, I know it's a chain but my kids never complain about going there and it's fairly inexpensive.

PP here. This place is right outside of Port Discovery and also really good if they want pizza:

Anywhere in Little Italy but Sabatinos is a family favorite! There are a lot of decent places in Harbor East and Blackwall Hitch is on Pratt. ( haven’t been but haven’t heard any complaints from colleagues ).

Have you ever had a great meal there?

There's something across from the children's museum. It was OK. It's been a while.

DP.

Actually, yes. I was there with my mom and my aunt last week. My mom had some pork barbecue and macaroni & cheese dish that had her ooohing and aaaahing the whole time. I had a great spinach omelet with the best turkey sausage I've ever eaten, and my aunt had fried chicken. We had a great time, the food was wonderful, our server (Tiffany) was fabulous, the place was very busy and everyone seemed happy as clams. The biscuits were out of this world. I would go there again in a heartbeat.

Clavel has a line at opening and is no where near the inner harbor.

If you get done early enough, Di Pasquale's and Trinacria may still be open. They're great Italian markets with small areas for seating. You may have to order and take somewhere to eat if it is warm enough. Plenty of spaces in the parks...go to Patterson park or one near the waterfront to eat.

None of these are convenient for the children’s museum.

Yep! PP here. I particularly remember these key lime pancakes that were delicious.

Give me a break. Baltimore is an extremely small city. Lived there for a decade. You don't know what you're talking about. ITT: a bunch of suburbanites who like trash food and have horrible recommendations. Good grief, if you're going to Baltimore, eat where the locals would.

My 7 year old and I love Amicci's in Little Italy. The walk from the harbor to Little Italy is fun--you can pass through Pierce's park, which is a fun and funky little park. The food is great and very kid friendly. The art on the walls is fun to talk about. The staff is so sweet.

Locals eat at Miss Shirley’s. We just usually go to the one on Cold Spring.
