Krisoy Kreme doughnuts have mysteriously shrunken in size. Is my vision failing me?

Def smaller. Like by more than half the size since 20 years ago.

Between 2005-2009 the Original Glazed was listed at 52 grams total weight and 200 calories.

They are now listed at 49 grams and 190 calories, a reduction of 5% for both stats. They've definitely gotten smaller. 5% may not seem like a noticeable difference, but its huge in a donut that is mostly air.

Basically we used to get donuts between UK and Australia, now we don't.

They've shrunk but they're not the size of Oreos. OP got minis.

Regular size are way smaller than a hamburger bun.

I was in a Krispy Kreme store myself - the minis are tiny but the regular donuts have definitely shrunk too. I wasn't complaining because they had a 2-for-1 special but still...

Shrunk is an understatement.

They were literally just barely larger than an oreo.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if the regular sized ones have gotten smaller. I read a big container of frying oil cost $25 a couple of years ago, and it cost over $60 now. Don't assume that these companies are trying to cheat you, they are just trying to stay afloat.

I would rather pay more than open a container and find that the food is half the size. Girl Scout cookies anyone?

That's what I've been telling people for years the past 3 years. The portions has gotten smaller but the price stays the same.
But, recently, the portions got smaller than it was already small and the price has gone up. Same with packaged goods. Look at the pasta, some portions has been reduced to 12 oz or 8 oz and the price is the same and sometimes the price has gone up. So, it's more than just inflation.

And if the restaurant has not increased their prices, the portion has gotten smaller than it was 1 year ago.

Somethings are better small, like a piece of cake or donuts. It's better to consume these in small portions anyway.

Agree. I wish more places would shirk their portions. For the sake of everyone’s health

There are 190 calories in an original glazed Krispy Kreme. Hardly gluttonous to enjoy one or two.

I went to Krispy Kreme for the first time in a while. I was shocked to see that the donuts were about half the size of the ones I remembered growing up with. My dad went ahead and purchased a dozen. I was going to purchase a dozen, but when I saw how they were ripping off the public, I refused. I won’t be going back until they go back to the regular size. Biden was worried about how many chips were in a bag?? How about checking out the size of the Krispy Kreme doughnuts now.

They're junk anyways. Assuming you only eat sweets once in a while, why do people eat this crap instead of fresh pastries from a local high-end bakery?
