At what grade level should kids learn to type?

No schools formally teach it. Some teachers go off curriculum and teach it. But, usually the sessions are pretty brief and you need to do it at home. We had a teacher do a few days of typing lessons.

Our DC’s second and third grade teachers showed their classes a typing program and it was one of the choices to do after class work was completed. It was not a formal part of the curriculum, but encouraged. Our DC did some in school, but also practiced at home.
