| My ex-husband always called me by a pet name for nearly our entire time together — 20 years. It wasn’t overly lovey-dovey at all, but was short and normal sounding. It was a nickname that only he called me but had nothing to do with my real name. When he started calling me by my real name, I knew our marriage was over. It sounds so dumb but it’s one of the very few things that I miss about our relationship. I’ll never be called that name again and it still makes me sad. |
