I did not post the question, but are you serious in asking Why does it matter? It is one more data point and affects the character of a school. Hearst is high OOB. My child attended Hyde which was high OOB, and we loved the eclectic crowd. At some point a school can be so OOB that it loses any neighborhood character. Comparatively, Hearst is at the very high end of the spectrum for me--as a neighborhood resident who believes in the value of public/charter ed--I would love to see more of the neighborhood put their kids in. This would add its own 'diversity' no? A good balance of neighborhood, who will fight and advocate for features of their neighborhood, and OOB who are showing the commitment to cross town.
