Are women generally more attractive than men?

Usually yes. Larger proportion of the Female pop is attractive and takes good care of themselves.

Smaller % if the male pop is and does.

Dating statistics back that up.

Men judge women on a normal distribution

Women are highly highly skewed on what they consider attractive.

All this reveals is women’s vastly overinflated feeling of entitlement.

“You may be a fat tatted unemployed single mom, but you deseeeeeerve a 6’2” CEO. Yaaaaas, qweeeeeen!”

Judging from classmate groups, yes. By the mid 40s, more women than men are still recognizable.

The other thread about attractive men made me think - I probably have only met a handful of truly attractive men in my life. Sure after getting to know them they become more attractive but stop me in my tracks attractive only a few. But I see attractive women a lot. Is that because they put more effort into keeping themselves up? Thoughts?

Female are more attractive ... well at least to humans.

The men in France are notably more attractive than American men because they are much less fat. So I guess it is dependent on whether your local supply of women and men are more or less out of shape/ overweight.

Its changing though. We have a very robust industry targeting male vanity. Metrosexuals, gays and social media stars like to look good. I see no harm, God is unfair and other than people who win genetic lottery, everyone else is at a disadvantage.

This may be a function of me living in suburbs but I used to take the VRE and I didn't see a single attractive person at my stop (approximately 50 people) nor on the train (I would usually walk through one or two cards to find a seat). I never noticed anyone particularly attractive when I got off at my stop either although to be fair there are a ton of people getting on and off and I was mostly focused on wading through a sea of people.

I have not noticed anyone attractive where I work either. Everyone just seems like they're in boring office attire and a fair number of people are overweight.

Try working in a big federal building. It looks like the Star Wars Cantina scene.

See handsome men frequently but really handsome men not so much. However, most women need a lot of help to look like they are "naturally" pretty or attractive. Lots of work going on behind the scenes...

np But there are some men and women we all can agree that are good looking even if we don't find them attractive.

Jonathan Groff and Daveed Diggs come to mind

It is to a degree, but there are some common traits that are considered attractive across the globe (symmetry of features, proportionate morphology, clear skin, hip to waist ratio in women and height in men, etc.)

Yes, of course. Necessity is the mother of invention. Our society puts a lot of pressure on women to be attractive + thin. Men get away with being fat + bald.
