We have Norman, both motorized and manual, after shopping around. We did find pricing variances for HD, but they were still way more expensive for similar functionality. For us, Norman was the sweet spot between selection, function, and quality.

We have Hunter Douglas shades on our windows. Started with 3-day blinds or 2-day blinds. The Hunter Douglas is expensive but for black-out curtains, or something for the bedroom we've found that it's worthwhile.
Also, we noticed that the raising/lowering mechanisms have been very durable. Others have broken, but we've had no issue with HD. If you can afford it, highly recommend. If you want to change them every few years, maybe not worth it. |
I can very honestly tell you that Smith Noble should be ashamed of themselves. The guarantee they give is absolutely useless.
Installation people should not be trusted. A solar motorized share was installed in a humid bathroom skylight on a humid day and the motor and panel fell through the shade. They offered to pay half of the total bill to replace and unit but really are only replacing the shade part. SMITH AND IGNOBLE AVOID!!! |
