I have a BFA and I do watercolor studies with my children. The most important part of learning to paint is seeing, so seeing a color, a line and a shape is a dynamite skill that can be picked up at a young age. If you think your child has some talent for art, set up an easy still life on the kitchen table (a few pieces of fruit in a bowl, a stack of boxes) and have them paint it a few times. YouTube videos are terrible at teaching art, but professional studios are unnecessary for young children.
