I posted above about DS’ acceptance.

He’s a high stats kid (4.529 GPA, 800 math, 740 verbal SAT) but also a generational legacy (grandparents and father)

The only kid I know who got in today is a student who skipped around schools during high school and ended up as a mediocre student at a second or third tier DMV private. Parents are not alums but are extremely wealthy. Is it possible to donate enough up front to get an acceptance at a state school? I admit to being completely nosy.

Our DC applied RD got email saying thank you for applying. We have everything we need. Fill this form if still interested. Weird? DC friends got same email except a line added we have made a decision. Anyone else in same boat.

Postponed with 1540 SAT / 4.4+ wgpa / 3.89 uwgpa / full IB diploma -- likely the highest stats of any peers that applied from DC's FCPS school of which there were likely only a few. It's pretty frustrating.
