Paredes seemed to improve a lot in this season compared to the one before that. Moving now may indeed be premature. Then again, these opportunities might not come along every day.

These kind of opportunities definitely don’t come along every day, even for very talented kids. Think about what a great life experience it will be for him playing overseas too, and hopefully learning a new language.

Better to be a small fish in a big pond for him, having to fight to be starting and improve every day will give him a better chance to reach the top

I am happy for the player but as a DC United fan this sucks.

Like I don't see any Youth National Team experience in his bios. Now Wolfsburg coming in with a rumored $8MM - $9MM transfer offer. We just have never seen anything like this in the past outside what were considered the very top few players in an age group and some years not even them.

Very true, the changes made in US youth soccer decades ago are really starting to payoff. It's good to see this as well as MLS trying to get that pipeline in place. We need more USA players getting those Pulisic contracts.

Aside from great footskills and flash, Paredes makes an impact on the game and it's noticeable. Good for him and good to see another local kid living their dream.

Don’t disagree, but one thing to clarify is that Paredes has been one of the top 03s and did play for the US Youth National Team a number of times.
