Wrong group to be mad at. All precincts in Arlington chose McAuliffe. Overall it was 76% for McAuliffe.

+1 Take it out on Loudoun

Loudoun didn't go for Youngkin, either.

This. Youngkin is going to kill all of the political progress made in Virginia that made businesses want to locate there and people want to live there.

+1, from a Virginian. None of this is surprising from Youngkin, but the people who voted for him will try to pretend that being mad about schools somehow excuses their vote.

Yup. This is 100% on them. Youngkin admitted before the election that he was going to push anti-choice.

Next time rein in your SJWs if you want my vote. Calling me an idiot does not make me feel welcome either. Also recognize that your top issue may not be my top issue. Your doomsday scenario with Youngkin is laughable. Larry Hogan next door runs a deep blue state.

Instead of scaremongering and shaming, do an introspection and come back and earn my vote.

I don't know if this type of extremism will scare off businesses in the short run - they might bank on sanity being restored in the next election. However, I, as a neighbor in DC, won't be visiting or spending a dime in Virginia as long as Youngkin is in charge.

Get. Over. Yourself.

If you voted for Youngkin, you are part of the problem. Full stop.

And you don't need a doomsday scenario for things to be bad. You have a MAGA wannabe administration with a divided legislature. Nothing is going to get done.

All resources and attention are going to go to legal battles over Executive orders, joining litigation on far right positions, and culture wars.

What on earth was your "top issue" anyway? Because something tells me nothing will actually get done about it.

You think Roe v Wade being overturned is going to scare off businesses?

Not being progressive scares off big businesses.

Being misogynistic scares off big businesses. And small ones.

All those fools who voted single issue “open the schools” when schools were already open have set Virginia back. And I am not progressive. I am a moderate who does not like the extremism that is today’s Republican Party.

+1

Totally irrational. And will have long-lasting effects.

“Earn your vote”? You really need anonymous posters to convince you?

Most adults are capable of evaluating candidates on their own. Weird that you rely on strangers to form your opinion.

Anyway, if you voted for Youngkin you voted for everything that comes with him. Including misogyny. That’s on you.

Touted as a "moderate" by media - what a joke.

Your bravado is fueled by your own anonymity. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

The Democrats treated me and my issues as roadkill when they raced through with their one shot agenda. There was no space for anyone who saw it differently from the extreme left wingers that have hijacked policy making in the party. But with supercilious boosters like you trying to shame me for my vote, my one-off vote may not be one-off. Yes, my vote is earned by whoever gets it. And I hope yours is earned as well. Or else our democracy is in trouble.

Our democracy is in trouble and the primary threat is from anti american republicans that only say elections are legit when they win. When they lose, rather than accept it and try harder to earn votes, they say at that point, the election is not legitimate.

That is as anti democracy as you can get

Of course if their wives have a nin viable pregnancy or their teen daughters get pregnant, they'll be taking them out of state.

This is just hurting poor women, as it always has. My own grandma was a religious woman with 8 kids but was always pro choice because she saw the devastating effects of poverty and being unable to afford additional kids during the Great Depression.

+2 if you’re looking for someone to “blame,” if anything it’s SE VA.

If course they will. We have all seen this movie before. Outlawing legal choices does not affect a woman's decision, it just moved it into the back alley or out of state. Terrible times. We are moving in reverse and stripping away rights from our children that we have had almost our entire lives
