No Take Out / Meals Out January

takeout food is mostly crap. we get pizza once in a while, thai once in a while and that's it. any other take out is cold or nasty.

Same. We rarely did take out before except when heading to sports practice or the pool, so that whole year we hunkered down.

Remember fomites were a worry early on, and we were a high risk family.

Day I was considered fully vaccinated: TACO BAMBA!

I think we are good for “no take out month” for at least a decade.

Local cafe / bakery is now charging right around $20 for deli sandwiches. That's the tipping point that just made it click that to-go food is just not worth it. The only reliable to-go food is a good local pizza joint, if you're lucky enough to live near an actual good one.

Joining in on this, no carry out for February for us.

We only do take out maybe once a month and I"m always disappointed in the food when we do. Even pizza is so much better made at home. And if you make the dough the night before, it doesn't take that much time.

Impressive. I can’t imagine. I actually don’t eat much takeout but no way am I giving up getting takeout for the kids - I can’t imagine all the extra cooking, even easy meals. I love leftovers and my kids don’t do they get pizza or Chick-fil-A or something junky like that fri and Sat night and I eat the leftovers (I don’t like pizza or CFA). So good on you, OP!

it was Thai food -- yummy --

but I got food poisoning!!

So... lesson learned I guess.

I bet it wasn’t food poisoning. It was your system having saltier fattier food after over a month of none. I have that happen when I eat steak sometimes because I eat it so rarely, my stomach has a hard time with it.

I don't think that was it. I eat plenty of salty fatty home cooked food!!
